Toronto, ON – March 15th, 2016 – Los Angeles-based, GRAMMY-nominated breakout band, The Record Company, are set to play their first Canadian dates since the release of their debut album, Give It Back To You. The group will be supporting John Mayer on his Montreal and Toronto tour stops in May. See below for complete details.

Give It Back To You experienced great success since its release in February 2016 on Concord Records. After 42 weeks strong on both the Billboard Top New Artist Heatseekers Chart and the Nielsen Alternative New Artist Chart, the roots/rock trio, The Record Company, scored a GRAMMY Award nomination for the album in the category of Best Contemporary Blues Album. Today, the album has moved over 4,500 units in Canada, including streams, and now the band will bring their live set to local fans.

The band, comprised of Chris Vos (guitar, lead vocals, harmonica), Alex Stiff (bass, guitar, vocals) and Marc Cazorla (drums, piano, vocals) – unleashed its debut album, Give It Back to You, on February 12th , 2016, and immediately struck a power chord nationwide. What’s more, The Record Company have rocked the airwaves with a series of high profile TV appearances, including CBS’ Late Show with Stephen Colbert and TBS’ Conan, not to mention countless radio sessions and live concert broadcasts on SiriusXM, NPR’s World Café Live, and Chicago’s WXRT.

CADENCE WEAPON PREMIERES NEW TRACK ‘MY CREW’ ON BEATS1 RADIO SHOW

CADENCE WEAPON

PREMIERES MY CREW (WOOOO)

ON ZANE LOWE’S BEATS1 RADIO SHOW

unnamed

TRACK CHRONICLES MONTREAL’S

UNDERGROUND AFTERHOURS SCENE

Toronto, ON – February 23rd, 2017 – Today, Toronto-based rapper, Cadence Weapon (aka Roland “Rollie” Pemberton), premieres My Crew (Woooo), on Zane Lowe’s Beats1 radio show. Following a strong beat and pulse, with Kaytranada at the production helm, the track is a futuristic trap banger chronicling Cadence’s experiences living in Montreal. The track is available now on all major streaming services.

Through frenetic tongue-twisting verses that call out internet trolls and Camo pant-wearing cops, My Crew (Woooo) mirrors the energy of Montreal’s underground afterhours party scene, complete with hedonistic imagery and shout outs to his crew dwelling in the various neighbourhoods of the city. Cadence describes the song as “an anthem about unapologetically being who you want to be, no matter what anybody else thinks.”

“There’s a sense of personal freedom that’s unique to Montreal and My Crew (Woooo) is a representation of that feeling,” says Cadence. “It’s a song about defying the labels that people try to place on artists. Is it underground? Mainstream? Conscious? Trap? Who cares, as long as it sounds dope.”

Recognized as Canada’s “most creative” rapper by the National Post, Cadence Weapon has consistently exhibited a passion to take rap into new and unexpected directions. Born in Edmonton, Cadence had an upbringing uniquely suited to becoming a rapper. His father, Teddy, a Brooklyn native, was the DJ that introduced hip-hop to Edmonton with his pioneering radio show, The Black Experience in Sound, on CJSR 88.5 FM. After spending his childhood immersed in his father’s diverse archive of music, Cadence started rapping at age 13. Soon, he was entering freestyle battles, rocking shows with his uncle’s funk band and teaching himself how to make beats.

Following the online success of his Cadence Weapon Is The Black Hand mixtape, Cadence released his self-produced debut album, Breaking Kayfabe, in December 2005 at the age of 19. The album was met with international critical acclaim, with the BBC praising its mix of “vivid, scattershot rhymes” and “techno-tinged beats”. In 2009, Cadence was appointed Poet Laureate of Edmonton, making him the literary ambassador of his home city for two years, during which he was invited to read poetry for an event at the 2010 Winter Olympics. He followed up this literary stint with 2012’s Hope In Dirt City, an album produced by Cadence recording live instruments and sampling them for his beats. The album was his second to be shortlisted for the Polaris Music Prize.

With more music on the way, and many projects on the go, stay posted on what Cadence Weapon has in store.

LE TROUBLE “MAKING MATTERS WORSE” AVAILABLE FOR EXCLUSIVE PREMIERE

OUT FEBRUARY 3, 2017

Made up of serendipitous friends Michael, Max, Garrett, Bao-Khanh and Jesse, Le Trouble are creating honest, charismatic pop rock perfect for dancing away the blues and saying, “fuck you.” But it’s clear their music also has the ability to dive much deeper, striking chords across the spectrum of emotion.

– Atwood Magazine

“Le Trouble united five introverts, and has resulted in undeniably great indie sounds and cathartic ‘fuck yous’.”

– IDOBI RADIO

The Boys of Le Trouble have an epic release in store for 2017. The Montreal five-piece have just completed some of their most evolved work to date. Their eleven track album “Making Matters Worse” is a prolific whirlwind showcasing the band’s dynamic lyricism and diverse composition. Explosive from beginning to end, the record puts listeners in an energetic trance, with brain shattering percussion and hypnotic melody, the ensemble brilliantly utilizes their supreme attention to detail.

Another successful release, Le Trouble is expected to start the new year on top. Get ready to embrace the alternative album of the year.

BIO:

Montreal-based five-piece Le Trouble is made up of twenty percent jamming and eighty percent hanging out.

Le Trouble includes five introverts who just happen to love making well- crafted pop music, but instead of reaching for the top of the charts, they write for themselves.

Unlike a lot of musical partnerships out there, Michael, Maxime, Jesse, Garrett, and Bao-Khanh are friends first, so following a fleeting brush with the American pop machine that would’ve destroyed most bands, the motivation to keep playing and keep making memories only grew. With debut album Reality Strikes now firmly in the rearview mirror, they’re ready to go hard again with a new album on Indica Records.

To them, the new album sounds like all five bandmates and their individual styles playing off each other and ultimately shining through. To the rest of us, it’s homebrewed pop with honest lyrics and big hooks that might sound calculated but are actually are cathartic ‘fuck yous’ they needed to let out. Like any band, they’ve faced their fair share of setbacks, but to them, failures are just the moments you end up laughing about later.
