One of the biggest attractions of Miami Music Week are the dance music record label parties. With music ranging from deep house to dubstep and every genre in between, there are no shortage of fresh talent and new music being showcased every year.

No record label sends hair-raising, electrifying waves of emotion with rhythm and passion more than Anjunabeats. Founded by Jonathan “Jono” Grant and Paavo Siljamäki in 2000 and later joined by Tony McGuinness, the trio would band together to form Above & Beyond, one of progressive trance’s most heavily recognized groups. 2016’s edition was hosted at The Raleigh, with performances from Andrew Bayer, Genix, Grum, Ilan Bluestone, Jason Ross, Maor Levi and others. Be sure to “trance around the world” at this year’s rendition taking place at The Raleigh once again!

ELECTRIC ISLAND

ANNOUNCES 2017 DATES,

SEASON PASSES, AND SECOND STAGE

unnamed

It’s hard to believe that Toronto’s Electric Island concert + picnic series is already heading into its fifth season! What began as a promising gathering of devout music lovers over the May long weekend back in 2013, has since grown into an internationally acclaimed music program. Over the past 5 years, Electric Island partners EmbraceFootwork and Platform along with the fans, have watched the series blossom. Whether it was a new location, adding more dates, or most impressively, developing their roster which now includes the world’s most sought-after DJs, Electric Island has quickly become Toronto’s most cherished music adventure.

Pleased to announce the 2017 dates, Electric Island is also excited to share that there will be a second stage, giving music lovers double the experience. Electric Island will host five shows at Hanlan’s Point, beginning on Monday, May 22 (Victoria Day). Things will continue to heat up on Saturday, July 1, as we celebrate Canada Day on the island, followed by a Civic Holiday to remember on Monday, August 7. Bringing summer to a close, Electric Island will host back to back shows on Sunday, September 3 and Monday, September 4 for the Labour Day weekend. T’is truly the most wonderful time of the year!

If you’ve experienced an Electric Island before, then you already know that each event brings with it a stacked line-up of A+ artists, which in the past have included the likes of Sven Väth, Dixon, Sasha, Loco Dice and many more. Therefore, you can agree that a season pass is the way to go. This year’s passes will be sold for a modest $169.99 + HST, which will get you into all five events. Please note that ferry tickets are not included and must be purchased separately. To avoid long line-ups at the ferry terminal, Electric Island highly recommends purchasing your ferry ticket ahead of time, which will allow you to by-pass the line. Ferry tickets may be purchased here.

SXM Festival, a clandestine Caribbean electronic music getaway, has announced the Phase 2 line-up for its March 15 -19 event, on the idyllic shores of Saint Martin. Joining an already world-class bill – including Ricardo Villalobos, Black Coffee, Âme, Bob Moses and Nina Kraviz – these newest additions show SXM Festival diving even deeper into the underground curation upon which it has earned its industry-leading reputation.

Poised to build upon the momentum of its much talked about inaugural 2016 event, SXM Festival’s fusion of tightly curated programming and the unique Island atmosphere of Saint Martin, has earned the enthusiastic praise of fans, artists, and critics alike.

SXM Festival Founder Julian Prince says:

“At SXM Festival we value quality and intimacy. Quality of music and experience. Intimacy with some of the most wonderful, enlightened, party people on the planet. Add to that the breathtaking beauty of Saint Martin and it’s a powerful mix. We have already sold tickets in North and South America, Europe, Australia, Africa and Asia. And we can’t wait to welcome our global family to this magical island. In year two we have also redoubled our efforts to bring the very best talent in underground electronic music to SXM, with every carefully curated artist having their own sonic identity. Improving on last year’s line-up has been a challenge because we respect the musical story so much. But as we announce Phase 2, we feel like we’ve done it for 2017 – and this story should win a Pulitzer prize.”

Since its inception, SXM Festival has had its sights set on crafting an utterly unique destination experience, creating a new home for the nomadic dance music cognoscenti. For five sunrises and five sunsets, attendees will find themselves barefoot at the secluded white-sand beach main stage, adrift on an iconic Caribbean Boat Party, shining at exclusive VIP Villa Parties, lost in a techno tailspin in a natural jungle venue, or swept up in the local cuisine and rich culture of St Martin / Sint Maarten (one side of the island is French, one Dutch).

It is this mix of fine-tuned musical curation, an astonishing natural setting and a quality-over-quantity model that has come to define the SXM Festival experience. With an already budding community of dancefloor devoteés and the attention of the globetrotting party elite, 2017 will see the festival rise even closer to its fated ranking amongst the world’s best music events.

Stay tuned for even more artists to be announced!

THOMAS GOLD RELEASES SENSATIONAL NEW SINGLE ‘BETTER VERSIONS OF MYSELF’ – OUT NOW ON ARMADA

THOMAS GOLD RELEASES SENSATIONAL NEW SINGLE ‘BETTER VERSIONS OF MYSELF’ ON ARMADA MUSIC

unnamed

…an uplifting electronic release that incorporates bubbly future bass elements and creative drum work… We’re excited to see Thomas Gold exploring new sounds here and look forward to seeing what else he has in store.

David Rishty, This Song Is Sick

German hotshot Thomas Gold releases ‘Better Versions Of Myself’, the third single from his upcoming album, coming worldwide via Armada Music.

BUY/STREAM THOMAS GOLD ‘BETTER VERSIONS OF MYSELF’

An infectious, delicate slice of production that masterfully blends pop and electronic to startling effect, ‘Better Versions Of Myself’ sees the Berlin-based artist showcasing a more mature, daring and confident sound, one that deliciously and delightfully indulges the listener with modern, syncopated rhythms and fluted, trilling vocals. At once both playlist and dance floor friendly, the single’s lyrical earworm alone looks set to become a staple chant across the upcoming 2017 international festival circuit.

The move towards a new sound has already proven itself to be a winning one, with the album’s previous releases ‘Magic’ and ‘Saints & Sinners’ clocking up over 5 million streams between them on Spotify alone. Long known and revered for his ability to craft proven dance floor dynamite, the shift towards a more experimental period could have backfired, but fans of Gold will already know from his searing remix of Adele’s ‘Set Fire To The Rain’ that the German has always had an uncanny knack for striking the right balance between the worlds of pop and electronic. As the clock counts down with growing impatience towards the release of the new album, ‘Better Versions Of Myself’ will only serve to bring the hype even closer to fever pitch – and deservedly so.

Thomas Gold ‘Better Versions Of Myself’ is available now to stream and download via Armada Music.
