IT’S YOUR SHOT 2017 – 100,000 PRIZE!

Slaight Music – champion and prime supporter of the Canadian music industry – including Indie Week – have announced the launch of “It’s Your Shot 2017”, Canada’s premiere songwriting and artist development competition. The contest, which is open to all musical genres, encourages Canadian artists to submit a song/and or video to www.itsyourshot.ca for a chance to win a Grand Prize valued at $100,00.00 in total.

The “It’s Your Shot 2017” competition is one of the many initiatives put forth by Slaight Music – a company focused on discovering, developing, inspiring and supporting Canadian recording artists.

Each year, Slaight Music partners with one of Canada’s record labels to support this initiative via a multi-platform digital EP release. The winning artist this year will receive recording, distribution,  radio promotion, publicity and marketing support via Hidden Pony/Universal Music Canada, along with a professionally produced photo shoot, artist biography and two music videos. Additionally the winner will receive business mentoring, personalized development of their own artist brand, including website and social media platform and opportunities to perform live in 2018 including a show at Indie Week Canada in November.

Past winners of “It’s Your Shot” include Indie Week alumni Liteyears and Jillea as well as Sam Drysdale, Kayla Diamond and 2016 winner Notifi.

The competition runs from December 2017 until March 15, 2018 with the winner being announced in May 2018.
