Happy 2018! After twelve months of memories made at Toronto’s premier dance destination, a new year of top-notch bookings at CODA awaits us, beginning with a stacked January line up. Kickstarting the month is a troupe of Toronto locals onJanuary 5, followed by the CODA debut of Hunter Siegel‘s No Neon series – he will play an open-to-close set on January 6Life and Death affiliate Vaal joins us on January 12, a Jungle Tekk Recordings label night rolls through on January 13, and Drumcode mainstay Bart Skils is up to bat on January 20. Tech house kingsProk & Fitch come through on January 26 and the UK’s Billy Kenny closes out the month on January 27. New year, same CODA – let’s kick the year off right!

Friday, January 5 – Kickstart 2018
At CODA, the support shown for our locals is always through the roof and is taken very seriously – nearly every event that rolls through the venue starts with some expert homegrown talent. What better way to kick off the first Friday of 2018 than with a stellar line-up of some of Toronto’s finest? On the bill for January 5 areAmalia LeandroVaxxButrous and Alexander Harris. To sweeten the deal, the event is free before 11:30 – kickstart your new year off right.

Saturday, January 6 – No Neon: Hunter Siegel
Hunter Siegel‘s No Neon brand and event series has become a pinnacle in the Toronto scene, with regular nights in the city as well as pop-up events all across North America. The series is dedicated to showcasing some of the best in underground electronic artists from Toronto and beyond, from electro to house and everything in between. In celebration of three years of show-stopping events, the series makes it’s CODA debut on January 6 with Siegel throwing down a special open-to-close set – you’ll want to leave your neon at home for this one.

Friday, January 12 – Vaal
January 12 will be a very special night at CODA when the somewhat mysteriousVaal is welcomed to the decks. Maintaining a shadowy existence and shying away from the limelight in order to direct all focus to her productions, Vaal has forged a unique identity and sound for herself. In addition to being a well-loved affiliate ofAfterlife and Life and Death, Vaal releases on her own imprint, Baastard Records, with entrancing records that are bursting with emotion and depth. Toronto faves Talal & Zoi and Hauy round out the line up for the night, for what is sure to be a memorable evening.

Saturday, January 13 – Jungle Tekk Recordings Showcase
On January 13, welcome back one of Toronto’s mainstay imprints for  showcase night: Jungle Tekk Recordings! Sister brand to the beloved Jungle Funk Recordings, the label consistently puts out high energy, jacking records that turn any dance floor into one serious party. Leading the pack for the night is label owner Deko-ze, who will be joined by a myriad of familiar names: Quim,JayforceRandomdougRyan Wiley and Thien will all take their turn at the decks.

Saturday, January 20 – Bart Skils
On January 20 we welcome back Drumcode affiliate Bart Skils for a night of hard-hitting techno. Having established himself as one of Holland’s most respected techno artists, he consistently delivers forward-thinking, quality productions. His deep, hypnotizing sound has packed venues and festivals all around the world, including his own venue Voltt, one of Amsterdam’s most critically acclaimed destinations. Two of CODA’s resident techno experts will be on warm-up duty:Jeremy Stott and Butrous. It’s time for #Drumcoda!

Friday, January 26 – Prok & Fitch
Hailing from Brighton, one of the UK’s most prominent areas for top-notch music,Prok & Fitch continue to be one of the most exciting duos in tech house music today, having become globally recognized for their unique, infectious groove. From their explosive productions to their incomparable energy, it is no wonder that this pair has quickly risen to the top of their game. A triad of essential locals round out this night: on opening duty are AddySimon Jain and Andy Cue, all masters in their own right.

Saturday, January 27 – Billy Kenny
Formulating a perfect marriage between UK garage, techno and house, Billy Kenny is one of Britain’s most exciting exports and will be taking over CODA for the Toronto stop on his Milky Way Tour. In addition to scouting out talent for his own label, This Ain’t Bristol, he is regularly featured on Dirtybird and recognized for his high-energy, bouncing electro sound and thrilling performances that have won over the hearts of party-goers all over the world. Come see what all the fuss is about on January 27!
