Casandra Elizabeth Ventura – Cassie – is an internationally recognized singer, actress and model.
Born and raised in New London, Connecticut, Cassie began her modeling career at the age of 14 and quickly earned a reputation as a style icon. She has modeled for Calvin Klein’s CKOne Fragrance, Forever 21, Adidas, appeared in television ads and been featured in V Magazine, GQ, Vogue, Elle and more.
When she was just 16 years old, Cassie’s musical talents were discovered, and shortly thereafter, in 2006, she joined Bad Boy Entertainment and released her self-titled debut album. The album, which rose to No. 4 on the Billboard charts, included the hit single, “Me & U,” which became one of the most popular songs of 2006 and generated over 2 million digital downloads. A decade later, her debut album has become a classic and is recognized for pioneering a minimal R&B sound that has influenced the current music landscape including some of today’s biggest stars such as Drake, Bryson Tiller, and SZA.
In April 2013, Cassie released “RockaByeBaby,” a mixtape with tracks featuring Rick Ross (“Numb”) and Wiz Khalifa (“Paradise”). The project, which generated over 1 billion social media impressions and was unanimously praised amongst critics and was honored by Dazed and Confused magazine as “Mixtape of The Year.”
Cassie has recorded music with Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, and Young Jeezy and performed on MTV’s TRL, BET’s 106 & Park and at the BET Awards.
In August 2017 she dropped the first song, “Love a Loser,” featuring G-Eazy, off of her new album which has garnered over 5 million streams. More music is set to release in the coming months.
